Radio is the transmission of signals through free space by modulation of electromagnetic waves with frequencies below those of visible light. Electromagnetic radiation travels by means of oscillating electromagnetic fields that pass through the air and the vacuum of space. Information is carried by systematically changing (modulating) some property of the radiated waves, such as amplitude, frequency, phase, or pulse width. When radio waves pass through an electrical conductor, the oscillating fields induce an alternating current in the conductor. This can be detected and transformed into sound or other signals that carry information.

Founded in late 2004, Hamburg-based label liebe*detail has become internationally known for releasing high-quality, versatile and genre-defying electronic music, ushering a new generation of deep-house, deep-techno and electronica producers into the core of the scene. Kicking Ink Recordings is the label of UK-based electronic artist Mr Fogg. The label's first release was Fogg's 2010 debut album "Moving Parts", co-produced by Valgeir Sigurdsson, which established Mr Fogg as a force to be reckoned with thanks to support from major media such as NME, Q Magazine, The Guardian and Radio 1.

Palette Recordings was started by John Tejada in the fall of 1996. Palette became an exclusive outlet for Tejada to release his most prized music. Past releases have featured music and remixes by artists such as Daniel Bell, Titonton Duvante, Klute, Dominick Martin, and Dan Curtin among others. However these days the label is set up as the primary outlet for the work of its main artists. John Tejada, 21 year Tejada collaborator Arian Leviste, as well as Justin Maxwell and Josh Humphrey. Air Texture’s mission is to present a diverse array of electronic music that is not dance floor oriented. Hopefully from this a beautiful display of narrative, formless - yet formed - musical ideas will be presented and absorbed by sympathetic ears worldwide. Air Texture’s guiding principals are: Music out of musical form becomes omniscient - a representative sound defining all of our experiences at once. Songs out of song structure become singular - free of history - revealing a hidden world in constant, empathic reverberation. Air Texture was founded by James Healy (Escape Art), co-founder of the Agriculture Records in Brooklyn.

As the next step in the evolution of a legendary producer, on September 1st 2011, Stefan Betke is founding a new artist label named “pole.” Made for the music of pole, this new imprint will keep Betke’s large back catalogue available, as well as give his forthcoming releases an autonomous structure for experimentation and creativity. For over a decade, Stefan Betke has been working as a label owner, publisher and mastering engineer, contributing his experience to the development of electronic music. The artist label “pole” is intended to create a place where pole ́s original and unique sound can be developed further, and combined with new production methods and ideas. In the second half of 2011, pole will re-release his full back catalogue digitally, including classical records such as “1,2,3,” “Steingarten” and “Steingarten remixes,” as well as his new music on a series of 12 inches released on vinyl and digital. As Pole puts it: “My new music will sound very warm, has a lot of bass and stands in a strong relation to my musical history.

True Panther Sounds is a New York-based label.
