Pepe Deluxe have recorded a pych-orientated mix for Ninja Tune's Solid Steel series.
Pepe Deluxe exist in a world of their own. The band's new album 'Queen Of The Wave' is so over the top, so ludicrously buoyant that it almost defies description.
At one point using the world's largest musical instrument, Pepe Deluxe squeeze vastly ambitious chunks of prog into a three minute pop framework. Wonder where they get their ideas from? Well a new podcast could provide the answer...
Old friends with the Ninja Tune crew, Pepe Deluxe recently dropped by the label's HQ to record a mix for their Solid Steel show.
Opening with some way out Japanese guitar fuzz courtesy of Takeshi Terauchi, the mix moves from Black Sabbath to Howlin Wolf, Van Halen to Steppenwolf. Containing rarities and classic cuts, the mix points out a few of the influences driving Pepe Deluxe.
