Frightened Rabbit have outlined plans for a tour of the Highlands, mixing solo shows with full band dates.
The Highlands appear to have become quite the hot destination for any new group with a folk bent. Mumford & Sons started the trend, while Laura Marling has also become enamoured with Scotland’s Northern lands.
Now Frightened Rabbit have confirmed plans for a full tour of the Highlands. However the band have a greater claim to the venture than most. The five piece are actually Scottish for a start, while Frightened Rabbit are also known for disappearing off into the North to focus on new material.
Currently hard at work on their fourth album, Frightened Rabbit are planning to air new tracks on their Highland jaunt. ClashMusic recently tracked down frontman Scott Hutchison to discuss the band's recent writing sessions, the singer had the following to say:
“It’s written, essentially. So we’re just trying to chose a producer. We’re trying to figure that out. It’s written and it’s really exciting material. It’s different enough but it’s still ourselves, y’know? It’s dark. We’re experimenting with minor keys, which is actually new for us – we’re quite a major key band. Fuck me, I’ve done – what – three albums now and not many minor key songs. So we’ve been experimenting with that. Spooky.”
Exciting stuff.
Scott Hutchison is set to play five solo shows around the Highlands, before hooking up with Frightened Rabbit for a number of full band dates.
Tickets for all shows go on sale at 9am this Friday (February 3rd).
